Quietly awakening...

Sonic the Hedgehog layed down on his bed thinking. Thinking about what 
had gone on that day...he'd seen Amy. He wondered why Amy liked him so 
much. And he asked himself why he always ran away...
"Why do I?" he whispered.
"Why? Why do I act like I don't like her...I know I've hurt her 
feelings some times...But...I never really meant it...why?"
He kept asking himself why...he couldn't think of an answer.
Actually, his heart was telling him the answer...he just wasn't 
listening at the time...

Amy Rose was her happy cheerful self. She'd seen her hero Sonniku that 
day. Amy picked up a picture of Sonic on her nightstand and sighed.
"Oh Sonniku...why can't you tell that I love you so much...I want to 
tell you...but...I'm scared...scared that you'll say you don't love 
me...or laugh in my face..."
Then she sighed.
"What am I saying? Sonniku cares about me! Why would he have saved me 
these many times!"
She took the picture and put it next to her heart.
"Daisuki...Sonniku..."

Although I know that I've been hurt before because I'm clumsy

The next day Amy was woken up by the sound of her telephone.
"Uh...Hello?"
"Hey Amy..it's me...Sonic..."
Amy's flushed, "Oh hi Sonniku!"
"Hey...uh...will you go to the Mystic Ruins tonight at about nine? 
I want to talk to you..."
"Oh..o-okay! Sure I'll be there!"
"Okay...see ya'!"
"Bye-Bye Sonniku!"
"Ja ne..."
Sonic put down the phone. He needed to talk to Amy...maybe then he 
could figure out his feelings...

All day Amy was in a daze. Sonic had never asked her to go anywhere.
"What does he want to talk to me about...Is he going to tell me..." 
she thought.
She thought that all day until she had to go to the train to the 
Mystic Ruins.

Sonic had come to the Ruins at eight. He needed to think of what to 
say.
"I can't just walk up to her and go 'Hey Amy! I think I love you but 
I don't know! Let's talk it over!'"
He laughed at himself.
"Jeez...what can I say?!"
He fell on his back and looked up at the stars. He looked at his 
watch.
"Hhmm...8:25...man I got here early..."

Amy got to the Mystic Ruins and found Sonic.
"Hey Sonniku..."
It startled Sonic and he jumped about a foot.
"Oh..h-h-hi Amy!"
Amy giggled.
"So...what did you want to talk to me about?"
"Uh..."
He still hadn't thought of anything to say...
"Amy...I know you really like me...but...I...don't understand my 
feelings toward you...I don't want to mislead you...so..."
Amy put a finger to his lips. And whispered.
"Sonniku...what have you been listening to? Your head or your heart?"
Then it hit him...he HAD been listening to his head...
"Er...my head...I guess..."
"That's why you're confused! Never listen to your head when dealing 
with this...it'll only lead you to heartbreak..."
Sonic locked eyes with Amy.
"In this light..she sure is pretty..." he thought.
He mentally slapped himself, "What the...did I just think that?"

"Yeah...I did..."
They were both entranced in each other's gaze.
"Sonniku..." Amy whispered.
"Amy..."
Then they felt their faces getting closer and closer...then...

Sonic wrapped his arms around Amy's waist and Amy wrapped her arms 
around his neck.
Sonic's heart was pounding so hard he couldn't hear himself think.
"So this is what listening to your heart is..."
Amy thought she was flying...she never wanted this to end...but she 
knew it would soon enough.
Their lips came apart then stared for at each other...
